A method of obtaining sodium niobate nanowires in a shorter time using microwave-assisted hydrothermal method followed by calcination was proposed. The obtained Perovskite showed improved crystallinity and band gap after heat treatment, resulting in enhanced photocatalytic performance with a high degradation rate of RhB reaching around 99.21%.
In the present work, we present a method of obtaining sodium niobate nanowires, in less time, using the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method followed by a calcination step. The photocatalytic activity of the samples was investigated through the photodegradation of Rhodamine B. The Perovskite obtained has an orthorhombic structure, space group Pbma and it was demonstrated that the heat treatment applied increased the crystallinity and band gap of the samples, reflecting in a better photocatalytic performance, resulting in high degradation rate of RhB, reaching a percentage of degradation similar to 99.21%.
