Robust heart sound segmentation based on spectral change detection and genetic algorithms

Miguel A. Alonso-Arevalo et al.

Summary: The research introduces a new method to segment heart sound signals into fundamental heart sounds and silences for automatic auscultation. By analyzing and selectively choosing the positions of sound events in the PCG signal, and using two genetic algorithms to estimate the optimal positions, the accuracy of segmentation is significantly improved through two stages of processing.
