Characterization of Mechanical Properties of 3-D-Printed Materials Using the Asymmetric Four-Point Bending Test and Virtual Fields Method

M. M. Zhou et al.

Summary: The virtual fields method is an inverse method for characterizing the mechanical properties of materials by identifying all constitutive parameters using one test. The accuracy of identification depends on load configuration, deformation measurement, and virtual displacement fields. A new load configuration for the asymmetric four-point bending test was proposed in this study, combined with moire interferometry for characterizing constitutive parameters of 3D-printed materials.
