Two-dimensional sulfur- and chlorine-codoped g-C3N4/CdSe-amine heterostructures nanocomposite with effective interfacial charge transfer and mechanism insight

Xiaofeng Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully fabricated sulfur and chlorine codoped graphite CN (S/Cl-CN) and constructed a S/Cl-CN/CdSe-D heterojunction, which exhibits enhanced photocatalytic activity. The introduction of S and Cl atoms improves interlayer charge migration capability, while the substitution of S atom for N atom helps adjust the band gap.

Covalent organic framework nanorods bearing single Cu sites for efficient photocatalysis

Zhiyue Dong et al.

Summary: By rationally designing novel Cu-coordinated COF nanostructures, this research has achieved efficient visible light absorption, complete electrons-holes separation, and enrichment of toxic organic compounds. The COF-909(Cu) nanorods demonstrated excellent performance in photocatalytic degradation, surpassing current state-of-the-art photocatalysts. Density functional theory calculations confirmed the structure-function relationship between the single Cu sites and the separation of electrons-holes, as well as the strong binding sites for target molecules.

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Energy Conversions: Current Status, Challenges, and Perspectives

Shanshan Tao et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a class of important polymers that enable energy conversion by precise synthesis of long-range structures. Advances in chemistry over the past 15 years have greatly enhanced our ability to design and synthesize COFs, leading to a deep exploration of their energy conversion functions. This review summarizes strategies for predesigning COF skeletons and channels, analyzes the structural requirements for various energy conversions, and discusses the challenges and future directions in molecular design and synthesis.
