The Limited Impact of Current Therapeutic Interventions on Cerebrovascular Reactivity in Traumatic Brain Injury: A Narrative Overview

Logan Froese et al.

Summary: The current ICU treatment strategies for TBI patients focus on ICP- and CPP-directed therapeutics, while impaired cerebrovascular reactivity is emerging as a significant factor in poor outcomes. Although emerging treatment paradigms target personalized CPP and ICP thresholds based on cerebrovascular reactivity, further research into the molecular pathways involved in impaired cerebrovascular reactivity is needed to develop preventive and therapeutic measures.
