Anaerobic digestion of sugar beet pulp after acid thermal and alkali thermal pretreatments

Summary: The study investigated biogas production from sugar beet pulp under mesophilic conditions through alkaline and acid thermal pretreatments. The highest biogas yield was achieved with KOH thermal pretreatment, reducing anaerobic digestion time as well. Different substances showed varying removal rates in the reactor.

Summary: Methane production from anaerobic co-digestion of primary sludge with fruit and vegetable wastes can be significantly enhanced by using a mixture ratio of 50:50, resulting in higher methane yield. Using activated sludge as inoculum improves methane production compared to other types of inoculum.
