The continuous study on the preparation of different types of carboranylphosphine ligands and their derivatives is of great interest because of their rich coordination chemistry and promising applications in a variety of important fields. The diverse reactivities and particular bonding modes of novel transition metal complexes containing carboranylphosphine-based ligands have attracted extensive attention. Herein, we describe the synthesis of transition metal complexes based on carboranylphosphine ligands and transition metal precursors. The wide applications of these complexes are also discussed.
