It is important to analyze the growth elements and trace the transport of the elements in the plant. Concentrations of mineral elements in rice parts at maturity were detected using collinear double pulses laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (DP-LIBS). The study was designed to improve the detection performance of the DP-LIBS device. The 1064 nm and 532 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser was used as the excitation light source. Mineral elements in roots, stems, leaves, and leaf sheaths were analyzed with a semi-quantitative method. The spectral line of C I: 247.8 nm was used as the calibration line. The intensity of the corrected spectral line was used to reflect the concentration change, and the distribution of elements in different parts was studied. The results showed that the concentrations of Al, Cu, P, Na, and Zn were greater in roots than in other rice parts. The concentrations of Si and Mg were higher in leaf sheaths than in other rice parts. In a certain concentration range, there were synergies among Al, Cu, P, Na, and Zn, while there were antagonisms between K and Ca. It is demonstrated that the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy is suitable for the rapid detection and analysis of plant mineral elements. It can provide new technologies and methods for the study of plant mineral element interactions and operations.
