The problem of heating a non-homogeneous thermoelastic layer induced by absorbing a penetrating laser radiation throughout its volume is solved using the dual-phase-lag theory of thermoelasticity. The solution to the problem is obtained using the Laplace integral transform technique, and the distributions of the upper surface temperature, temperature, displacement, and normal stress are presented graphically.
The problem of heating a non-homogeneous thermoelastic layer induced by absorbing a penetrating laser radiation throughout its volume is solved by employing the dual-phase-lag theory of thermoelasticity. The surfaces of the layer are taken insulated and traction free. Using the Laplace integral transform technique, a solution to the considered problem is obtained. The results presented graphically for the distributions of the upper surface temperature, temperature, displacement, and normal stress.
