This study reports a moisture-stable direct bandgap defective double halide perovskite analogue constructed from [InCl5(H2O)](2-) octahedra. The introduction of heterogeneous oxygen in the octahedra position is crucial for achieving a broadband emission and for increasing the chemical and moisture stability. These unique merits make Cs2InCl5(H2O) a promising environmentally-friendly material to achieve applications for future optoelectronic devices. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
