Determination of Milling Performance of Jute and Flax Fiber Reinforced Composites

Yahya Hisman Celik et al.

Summary: The usage of natural fiber reinforced composite materials is increasing due to their ecological benefits and high mechanical properties. This study aimed to determine the milling performance of composites obtained from natural fibers and investigate the effects of different processing parameters. The results showed that vibration amplitude and delamination factor increased while cutting force and surface roughness decreased with increasing spindle speed. Cutting force, vibration amplitude, delamination factor, and surface roughness increased with increasing feed rate. The choice of tool material had an impact on the milling performance of different composites.
