In this work, the synthesizing procedure of nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiO-NPs) has been performed through the usage of Cydonia oblonga extract and had their shape, phase study, and morphology investigated by the employment of varying techniques. In addition, we have assessed the photo-catalytic outcomes of NiO-NPs on the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB), while in the course of the process, their amazing potential as photocatalysis under UVA-light has been detected as well. The results of evaluating the biocompatibility of these nanoparticles on L929 cell lines, which had been done to gather more data on the safety of these particles, has been indicative of their non-cytotoxic effect. Moreover, the facecentered cubic (fcc) construction of NiO with a space group of (Fm3m) has been observed throughout the attained outcomes of XRD examination in regards to the obtained samples. Also, the morphology and elemental analysis of NiO-NPs have been examined by the employment of FESEM and EDAX procedures, respectively. The superparamagnetic functioning of NiO-NPs, particularly at ambient temperature, has been affirmed through the performed magnetic measurements. In accordance with the observations, next to being capable of acting as a photocatalyst, their bandgap has been determined to be about (4.3 -5.2 eV). (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
