Gelatin-based nanofibrous electrically conductive scaffolds for tissue engineering applications

Summary: Nanofibrous electrically conductive scaffolds based on gelatin, namely Gel-g-PTh and Gel-g-PTh/PCL, were successfully designed and fabricated using the electrospinning technique. The preliminary investigation showed that both types of scaffolds have potential for tissue engineering applications requiring electroactivity. Co-electrospinning Gel-g-PTh with a small amount of PCL was found to improve the uniformity and some biological characteristics of the nanofibrous scaffold.
