Nano sensing technology with the utilization of bioelement is one of the most desirable methods for rapid analysis of pesticides. The conventional detection techniques like liquid/gas chromatography (GC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), electrophoresis and mass spectroscopy are inadequate because of its complex detection and inappropriate for on-site recognition. Besides, high sensitivity towards the target is highly needed for pesticide recognition. For the enhancement of the sensitivity of the sensors, recently several researchers directed their attention on new strategies such as nanobiosensors. With the advancement in nanotechnology, developments have been made in the integration of nanomaterials with bioelements. This review article provides an insight into the recent advancements in the recognition of pesticides using nanobiosensors. This study also emphasized the detection mechanisms of each technique and their limitation in measuring the pesticide are depicted. The outlooks regarding the selection of the best sensing method are also discussed. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
