Minority-White income inequality across metropolitan areas: The role of racial/ethnic residential segregation and transportation networks

Joseph Galaskiewicz et al.

Summary: Based on a study of 49 core based statistical areas in the U.S., it was found that Black and Latino incomes are significantly lower than White incomes, especially in areas where they are more segregated. Additionally, efficient transit networks can help improve job accessibility for Black and Latino residents during the morning rush hour, potentially reducing income disparities.
