Rheological and adhesion properties of nano-organic palygorskite and linear SBS on the composite modified asphalt

Summary: In this study, nano-organic palygorskite (O-PAL) was successfully prepared by acid activation and silane modification, and combined with styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS) to improve the properties of asphalt. The addition of O-PAL showed excellent water stability and increased the critical temperature of the modified asphalt by 40%. The combination of O-PAL and SBS is effective for improving anti-aging and storage stability performance of the composite modified asphalt in high-temperature and humid areas.
