In this paper, two resin-filled copp-graphite brushes were prepared at the sintering temperature of 450 degrees C and 910 degrees C respectively. The friction and wear mechanism of the brushes during the current-carrying friction process at different ambient temperatures were discussed. The results show that the friction stability decreases with the increase of the ambient temperature, the friction and wear mechanism changes continuously. Compared with 450 degrees C sintered brush, 910 degrees C sintered brush has larger pore size and higher porosity. At high temperature condition, the cumulative oxidative wear is obvious, resulting severe wear of the brushes and commutators. The low-temperature brush has low porosity, high-temperature oxidation resistance. It shows good friction and wear performance under high ambient temperature. (C) 2020 The Author(s).
