Optimization of the Process of Fine Electric Discharge Dispersion

The investigation results for the fine dispersion of the prerefined oxides of rare-earth elements using electric discharges in an aqueous medium are presented. A possibility of producing oxide particles with a size less than 1 mu m is shown, including the generation of those particles from large blocks of previously coagulated oxide particles. It is shown to be reasonable to choose such an interposition of zones where pressure waves and pulse hydro-flows are generated, at which local regions of intense electric discharge cavitation appear, providing dispersion. A concept of an efficient electric discharge chamber-disperser is proposed.
