Transcriptional expression of Na+ homeostasis-related genes and physiological responses of rice seedlings under salt stress

Summary: Being a salt-sensitive crop, rice growth, development and productivity are severely affected by saline soil. The study found that rice lines with up-regulated expression of OsNHX1 and OsSOS1 under salt stress showed better salt tolerance, while those with low expression levels of OsHKT1;5 and OsHKT2;1 were more susceptible to salt stress.
