An environmentally friendly dual-template magnetic ion imprinted polymer (DMIIP) of Cd2+ and Pb2+ were prepared by surface imprinting technique combined with a sol-gel process using Cd2+ and Pb2+ as dual-templates, papain as a functional monomer and magnetic mesoporous Fe3O4@mSiO(2) as substrate. The Polymer was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and adsorption experiments. Maximum adsorption capacities of DMIIP were 41.69 for Cd2+ and 76.39 mg/g for Pb2+ in a mixed solution. We also studied factors affecting adsorption and desorption of Cd2+ and Pb2+. DMIIP clearly demonstrates a stronger ability than dual-template magnetic none-ion imprinted polymer (DMNIP) to selectively adsorb Cd2+ and Pb2+ from solutions containing other metal ions. Absorption by DMIIP was well fitted with a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. After eight adsorption-desorption cycles, adsorption capacity of DMIIP relative to Cd2+ and Pb2+ decreased 6.1% and 6.3%, respectively. The developed MISPE-GFAA method using DMIIP as adsorbent was satisfied to Cd2+ and Pb2+ determination in soil and food samples. The polymer could be a green and promising adsorbent to remove Cd2+ and Pb2+ from soil and food samples. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
