A control approach to scheduling flexibly configurable jobs with dynamic structural-logical constraints

Summary: This study focuses on scheduling in manufacturing environments with dynamic reconfigurability, aiming to simultaneously address process design and operation sequencing under changing hybrid structural-logical constraints. By proposing a model and algorithm, a tractable solution for such problems is obtained analytically based on optimal control and mathematical optimization principles. The developed algorithm allows for determining process design and operation sequencing concurrently, providing an approximate solution to the optimization problem. The research findings demonstrate the potential value of this approach for modeling problems with dynamic and interconnected constraints, supporting analysis of processing dynamics during operations execution.
