Preparation of Ag/β-cyclodextrin co-doped TiO2 floating photocatalytic membrane for dynamic adsorption and photoactivity under visible light

Ag and beta-CD co-doped TiO2 floating photocatalytic membrane (PM) was prepared through a modified electrospinning process coupled with a low-temperature in situ hydrothermal method. A dynamic on-line adsorption system was established by fixing the PM in a detachable syringe connected with a peristaltic pump. The adsorption capacity, degradation and self-cleaning property under visible light, and photocatalytic mechanism were investigated. The adsorption behavior fitted well with Langmuir mode and the adsorption capacity of 12.1567 mg g(-1) was mainly attributed to the participation of beta-CD and TiO2 internal mesopores. As a result of the synergistic effect of Ag and beta-CD, the floating PM exhibited active visible light-responsiveness and remarkable photoactivity for the degradation of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine, and the outstanding self-cleaning performance for oleic acid-contaminated surface. It is believed that the floating PM holds great potential for dealing with wastewater containing organic pollutant.
