Tank mixing is the preparation of agrochemicals and similar products in the tank or containers shortly before application. This practice recently legislated in Brazil, is common for most crops. Brazil stands out as one of the world's largest agrochemical consumers, and tank mixing leads to better management by reducing costs, soil compaction and entry into the application area. The legislation and the development of sprayers suitable for this type of application are essential. This review aims to organize research results for pesticides and/or fertilizers mixed in tanks and to indicate the best interactions for the safe release policy of this process in Brazil. Interactions between herbicides vs. herbicides, fungicides vs. fungicides, insecticides vs. insecticides, acaricides vs. acaricides, fungicide vs. insecticide, herbicide vs. insecticide and pesticides vs. fertilizers were analyzed and classified as being either antagonistic, additive or synergistic. Pesticide mixing may present advantages in agricultural sprays. Still, farmers require information about the products which are compatible with this process, given that most product combinations offer either beneficial or malicious interactions. The impacts, mainly negative, by different mixtures of agrochemicals, have been defined. Therefore, the use of information in this document can help society to adopt best practices in mixing tank products. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
