The electrochemical performance of polyaniline (PANI)/copper oxide (CuO) nanocomposites (PCN) for energy storage device applications have been studied by using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charging-discharging (GCD) techniques. The surface morphology shows substantial changes from granular shape to fine rod like structure with increasing CuO nano concentration. The absorption peak shifted towards higher wavelength (red shift) and optical band gap (E-g) found to be decreases from 2.86 eV to 2.59 eV of PANI and PCN2 nanocomposite respectively. The CV result shows improvement in the specific capacitance PANI is 294 F/g and 424 F/g for highest concentration PCN2 nanocomposites and GCD reveals the enhanced cyclic stability up to 4000 cycles. The above results suggested that the PCN plays an important role in enhancing long durable cyclic stability for supercapacitors application.
