In this article, the influence of the parameter nonlinearity on the torque and stator flux is considered, and the nonlinear mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor is established. On the basis, the torque controller is proposed through three steps: designing the nonlinear disturbance observer, deriving an optimal control law, and injecting the observations into the optimal control law. With the assist of space vector pulse width modulation, the proposed torque controller is applied for permanent magnet synchronous motor. Experimental results from a 2.3-kW prototype are performed, which validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
