This research concentrates on evaluating the partially substituted LaM0.5Mn0.5O3 (M = Cu, Co, Fe, Ni, Cr) perovskite oxide catalysts in NOx reduction. This catalytic system performs well in the following aspects, with proper long-term catalytic ability and cyclic catalytic ability, suitable water and sulfur resistance, low cost and high reserves. The partial substitution on B site of LaMnO3 perovskite obviously promotes the catalytic behavior in the following order: LaCu0.5Mn0.5O3 > LaCr0.5Mn0.5O3 > LaNi0.5Mn0.5O3 > LaCo0.5Mn0.5O3 approximate to LaFe0.5Mn0.5O3 > LaMnO3. The greatest catalytic behavior is obtained in LaCu0.5Mn0.5O3 sample at 300 degrees C, with complete selective conversion for NO and CO, respectively. This sample has great value in practical applications. By the results of in situ DRIFTS, the possible reaction mechanism is tried to propose to evaluate the entire reaction process in NOx reduction.
