In this research, tin oxide nanoparticles (SnO2-nanoparticles) are synthesized using sol-gel method in polymeric bed and considering the principals of green chemistry. Tin chloride and gelatin were used as tin precursor and stabilizing agent, respectively. The obtained gel was calcined in different temperatures (600, 700, and 800 degrees C). Different analyses such as TG-DTA, EDX, XRD, FT-IR, TEM, and FESEM were performed to examine the prepared nanoparticles. Results of XRD, TEM, and FESEM showed the spherical SnO2-nanoparticles in a tetragonal rutile morphology with mean particle size 27 nm. The evaluation of optical attributes of SnO2 has been carried out by utilizing the UV-visible spectrophotometry. The photocatalytic activity of SnO2-nanoparticles showed efficiency about 35.9% in degradation of Eriochrome Black T (EBT). [GRAPHICS] .
