An innovative method was put forward to fabricate superhydrophobic surface based on nanostructured zinc rich coatings via modifying the rough surface with perfluorodecyl triethoxysilane solution. The obtained super-hydrophobic surface not only displays a static water contact angle of 153 degrees and water sliding angle of 7 degrees, but also exhibits an excellent reparability and self-cleaning ability during the field test. Water immersion test and electrochemical measurements demonstrated that this modification can improve the anticorrosion performance of the coating.
