Novel trends in self-healable polymer nanocomposites

C. I. Idumah

Summary: Polymer composites for structural applications are prone to damage from cracks, which can lead to mechanical deterioration and electrical failure. Self-healing composites, inspired by biological systems, have the capability to automatically recover from damage. Stretchable electronics offer the ability to conform to irregular structures and biological tissues, enabling movement and flexibility. This article highlights recent advancements in self-healing composites, stretchable composites, and sensors, as well as future market trends and applications.
