In this work, the development of a new restricted access material combined to molecularly imprinted polymer for selective magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of estrogens was studied. The main parameters that affecting the extraction efficiency dining sample preparation were systematically optimized, including agitation time, amount of adsorbent material, volume of sample and eluent and pH of the sample. The average recoveries with their respective relative standard deviation (RSD%) for ethinylestradiol (EE2) and estradiol (E2) were 98.75 +/- 4.02% and 95.73 +/- 0.24%, respectively. The method was linear over the concentration range from 80 to 1100 ng(-1) for each hormone, with correlation coefficient of 0.9971 and 0.9954, to EE2 and E2, respectively. The new method was successfully applied in urine samples from voluntaries on hormonal contraceptive use.
