The micropolyhedral ZnS film on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass was prepared as following: ZIF-8 film on FTO by dipping method and then directly sulfuretted by chemical vapour deposition. Compared with ZnS particles, ZnS micropolyhedrons demonstrated excellent electrocatalytic reduction from triiodide to iodide as a counter electrode due to ZIF-8 skeleton. The ordered polyhedrons achieved lower electron transport impedance than that of the chaotic particle structure. The assumption can be confirmed by the electrocatalytic reduction from triiodide to iodide. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
