Lauryl monoglucoside sulfosuccinates (LG-SS) with four different numbers of hydrophilic groups were synthesized by two steps. The surface activity of these surfactants was determined by surface tension measurements. The aggregation behaviors of these surfactants in aqueous solutions were also studied. The results suggested that the micellization process of these surfactants in aqueous solution is spontaneous. The micellar morphology of LG-SS is spherical. Some parameters such as surface tension, the adsorption efficiency, efficiency of forming micelles, aggregation number, and micelle size increase with the number of hydrophilic groups. However, these parameters decrease when the number of hydrophilic groups and the number of hydrophilic base charges are increased.
