Glyphosate is utilized extensively as a herbicide in the world. According to EPA regulation in 2009, it is recommended to monitor of glyphosate in drinking water. In this work the capability of ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) as an analytical technique for determination of glyphosate in drinking water is presented. The measurements were carried out in positive mode of a corona discharge ionization source with NH3 as a dopant. Glyphosate was directly detected in concentration higher than 10 mu g/L in drinking water without sample preparation. Also, mechanism of ionization of glyphosate in corona discharge with and without NH3 dopant is discussed, theoretically. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
