KI/K2S2O8-Mediated C-S/C-N Bond Formation: One-Pot Regioselective Synthesis of 5H-Thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines

A new strategy for the synthesis of 5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines from KI/K2S2O8 mediated C-S and C-N bond tandem cyclization reaction of enaminones with 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-thiones has been developed. This method features inexpensive catalyst, base free and transition-metal free with simple procedure, affording the desired products in moderate to excellent yields.
