Individuals always join in some groups to collaborate some tasks and works with others. However, the effects of the group size distribution on information spreading dynamics have not been systematically investigated. To this end, we propose an information spreading model on complex networks with general group size distribution. A generalized bond percolation theory is used to study the final information outbreak size and outbreak threshold. Through extensive numerical simulations and theoretical analysis, we find that the broader of the group size distribution makes the larger of the final information outbreak size and the smaller outbreak threshold. Our theory can well predict the numerical simulation results. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
