Tungsten oxide quantum dot was synthesized by pulsed laser ablation method of tungsten tablet in liquid media in just one-step. This method represents a very green one by using just tungsten tablet and ultra-pure water for producing tungsten oxide without any impurities. The elemental and crystallinity analysis showed that the as-prepared sample was just tungsten oxide structure form, while the optical analyses proved that the as-prepared sample was prepared in a nanoscale dimension. Moreover, the morphological analysis confirmed that the tungsten oxide nanoparticles were a quantum dot with an average diameter about 5 nm. After that, the as-prepared samples were responsible for the catalytic activity against 4-nitrophenol. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
