Two amino add based surfactants, N-tetradecanoyl alanine and N-tetradecanoyl phenylalanine, are studied visa-vis their solution behavior and micellar selfassembly. The observations are correlated to their structural features and the pH of the system. Pseudobinary mixed surfactant system model is used to understand the complex surface tension profile of the surfactants. In mixed systems, surface properties and the micellization parameters and the micellar growth has been found to depend upon the composition of the surfactant mixture which has been explained on the basis of the occurrence of non-covalent pi-pi and NH-pi interactions between the component surfactant molecules.
