Elevated apolipoprotein B as a risk-enhancing factor in 2018 cholesterol guidelines

The American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and related organizations recently updated guidelines for management of high blood cholesterol.(1) This update expands on 2013 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines(2) and previous National Cholesterol Education Program recommendations. The purpose of the current article is to address where apolipoprotein B (apoB) fits into 2018 cholesterol guidelines.
