The current study scrutinized a two dimensional CVFEM modeling for convective flow inside a cylindrical enclosure with elliptical heat fluxes. This article deals with H2O-based iron oxide nanoparticles. Ferrofluid transportation was denoted with Navier-Stokes equations in which porous medium were treated according to non-Darcy formulation. Also, entropy generation has been calculated. Computations were examined over a range of relevant variables: Hartmann, Rayleigh and Darcy numbers. Results indicate that to reduce energy consumption, permeability should be increased. Second law results demonstrate that the part of the entropy due to each factors changes as active parameters change. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
