Potassium-ion batteries (KIBs) have fascinated great interest due to their lower redox potential, low cost and abundant reserve. Other advantage of KIBs is that graphite can be used as anode for KIBs. Many materials have been explored as the electrode and electrolyte for KIBs. In this review, we offer an initial overview of up-to-date researches as well as expectation for KIBs.
