The aim of this study is to compare the wear behavior of epoxy composites filled with Ti3AlC2-TiC and nanodiamond particles. Results indicated that the properties of epoxy/Ti3AlC2-TiC composites were better than those of epoxy/nanodiamond composites. The surface hardness of epoxy-0.75 wt%Ti3AlC2 -TiC composites was about 20.85% higher than that of epoxy-0.75 wt% nanodiamond composites. In addition, the wear rate of composites containing 0.75 wt% of Ti3AlC2-TiC and nanodiamond at the normal loads of 5 was respectively about 73.58 and 301.98 x 10(-6) mm(3)/Nm. Moreover, under both normal loads of 5 and 10 N, the Ti3AlC2-TiC particles had better performance in improving wear behavior of samples, compared to nanodiamond particles. SEM images of fracture and worn surfaces of samples were utilized for understanding the dominant wear mechanisms.
