A Novel Method for Repositioning Suboptimally Preoperatively Placed Nephrostomy Tubes for Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Without Renal Repuncture

Yazeed Barghouthy et al.

Summary: A novel method of adjusting preoperatively inserted nephrostomy tubes (NTs) for percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) by repositioning their original entry location to the ideal puncture location (IPL) offers the possibility of avoiding kidney repuncture. The procedure was successfully performed in cases, with an average operative time of 4 minutes. This method is proven to be safe, feasible, and easy to implement.
