The widespread production and use of pesticides have severely impacted the pristine quality of water resources. Present conventional techniques are incapable of removing such endocrine disrupting chemicals due to their recalcitrant nature. The use of functional material, namely hybrids of titanium, zinc, tungsten, iron, carbon, and polymers exhibits tremendous significance as the advanced treatment alternatives. The efficient applications of these materials are mainly attributed to their multidimensional properties, like the surface functionalization, visible light sensitivity, and reduced electron-hole recombination, etc. The treatment of this priority pollutant by the functional material and the related issues of concerns has been critically emphasized.
