We investigated the magnetization reversal process of Ni wires fabricated on a single-crystal Y-cut 128 degrees LiNbO3 substrate using magnetoresistance measurement, Kerr microscopy, and micromagnetic simulation. Our study reveals the stripe-domain structure, which is originated by the competition between the shape magnetic anisotropy and additional magnetic anisotropy induced by the heterojunction, allows us to provide a pinning necessary to control the domain-wall displacement.
