The impact of mineralized water on frozen soil causes dissolution of ice contained in the latter, resulting in cooling of the frozen soil. A procedure has been proposed for predicting the process of ice dissolution in frozen soil under the effect of cryopegs. Laboratory experiments with ice dissolution in frozen soils have been carried out at temperature below zero, and the effect of cryopegs on frozen soils has been studied theoretically. The obtained results are as follows: -a schematic map of the occurrence of cryopegs in Yamal Peninsula has been compiled (it is given in this paper) -the main regularities of ice dissolution in frozen soil under the effect of cryopegs have been established, in particular, the migration of unfrozen water and salt ions from the solution (mineralized water) into frozen soil has been substantiated by experiments -three models of typical cases of cry peg manifestation in Yamal Peninsula have been developed for engineering applications -a new procedure has been proposed for predicting the process of ice dissolution in frozen soil under the effect of cryopegs.
