Fusobacterium spp. and colorectal cancer: cause or consequence?

Although increasing evidence suggests a relationship between bacterial dysbiosis and colorectal cancer (CRC), few studies have identified specific microbial etiologic factors. Recent studies have implicated overabundance of Fusobacterium in association with colorectal adenomas and cancer.
