A Pd (OAc)(2)-catalyzed direct arylation of benzoxazole C-H bonds has been achieved with iodobenzene diacetates as the arylation reagent in moderate to good yields. The procedure tolerates a series of functional groups, such as methoxy, nitro, cyano, chloro, and bromo groups. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
