A series of 2-arylbenzothiazoles and 2-arylbenzoxazoles were synthesized by the reactions of aldehydes and 2-aminothiophenol and 2-hydroxythiophenol, respectively, using glucose oxidase (GOX)-chloroperoxidase (CPO) catalytic system under oxygen atmosphere. (C) 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
