A robust and recyclable ruthenium catalyst immobilised on polyethylene glycol

A highly robust and recyclable Hoveyda-Grubbs' second generation ruthenium type catalyst immobilised on polyethylene glycol is conveniently prepared from Grubbs' second generation catalyst. The catalyst performs ring-closing metathesis of various di-and tri-substituted olefins efficiently in dichloromethane in air. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
