Hexaalkoxytriphenylenes Synthesized from Facile Solvent-Free Oxidative Coupling Trimerization

[image omitted] By grinding 1,2-dialkoxybenzene with anhydrous FeCl3 powder using a glass pestle in a mortar at ambient temperature under solvent-free conditions, hexaalkoxytriphenylenes were obtained in good yield (up to 90%) in 30min. The solvent-free oxidative coupling reaction is a facile, efficient, ogreen-chemistryo method.
